Privacy Policy

KTMenu is a guide to where to eat in Nepal, published at ktmenu.xyz. It lists restaurants, their menus and best-of lists for the Kathmandu Valley and Pokhara.

This policy explains what the site collects, why, who else sees it and what you can ask us to do. It follows Nepal's Individual Privacy Act, 2075 (2018), the Individual Privacy Regulations, 2077 (2020) and the Electronic Transactions Act, 2063 (2006).

When you browse. You do not need an account and we do not ask who you are. There are no visitor accounts on KTMenu.

Server logs. The servers that deliver our pages record each request: your IP address, the page requested, the time, your browser's user agent and the page you came from. We use these records to keep the site running, fix faults and stop abuse such as form spam.

The List your place form. If you send it, we store what you enter: the restaurant's name and area, your name, your WhatsApp number or email address, the cuisines it serves and any notes.

Restaurant information. Restaurant names, addresses, phone numbers, opening hours, menus and photos shown on the site are business information. It comes from the restaurant itself or from public sources such as its menu and website.

We do not use analytics, advertising or social media tools that track you.

• To reply to your listing request and build the restaurant's page.
• To keep the site available and secure.
• To meet legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for profiling or advertising.

• Our hosting provider stores the site, its database and its server logs.
• Cloudflare delivers the site and protects it from attacks, so it handles every request, including your IP address. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
• OpenStreetMap. Restaurant pages show a map loaded from openstreetmap.org, so your browser contacts OpenStreetMap when the map appears. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.
• Google Maps receives nothing from us. It only sees you if you open a Directions link.
• Authorities, where Nepal law or a court order requires it.

Restaurant information is published on the site on purpose; that is what KTMenu is for.

Listing requests are kept while we handle them and while the restaurant is listed, then deleted. Ask us and we will delete yours sooner.

Server logs are kept only as long as our hosting provider and Cloudflare keep them for security and troubleshooting.

The site is served over HTTPS. Only our own team can sign in to the admin, with passwords stored as salted hashes, and the database is not reachable from the internet.

No system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we hold to the minimum described above.

KTMenu sets no cookies of its own. If you switch to the dark theme, the site remembers that choice in your browser. Our Cookie Policy has the details, including cookies Cloudflare or OpenStreetMap may set.

Under the Individual Privacy Act, 2075 (2018) you can ask us to:

• Tell you what personal information we hold about you.
• Correct it if it is wrong.
• Delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it.
• Stop using it where you had agreed to that use.

You can also complain to the relevant Nepal authority if you believe your information has been mishandled.

KTMenu is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you think a child has sent us their details, tell us and we will delete them.

When we change what the site collects, we update this page and the date at the top.

We do not have a public privacy address yet. Until we do, send any request about your information through the List your place form: write "Privacy request" in the notes and leave a WhatsApp number or email we can reply to.
